The Kakadu Plum (Terminalia ferdinandiana), also known as gubinge or billygoat plum, is a small fruit found in the Eucalypt open woodlands across Northern Australia.

Regarded as the highest natural source of Vitamin C in the world, it comes as no surprise that in traditional medicine, Kakadu Plums were used to treat colds and headaches. More recently however, they have also been recognised for their high nutritional value, being low in calories and providing a quality source of fibre, vitamins, and minerals.

In 2018, Hawaii passed Act 104 prohibiting the sale, offer of sale, and distribution of non-prescription sunscreens that contain the chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxate from 2021. With these chemicals shown to be detrimental to coral health, the intent of the law is to preserve marine ecosystems, including coral reefs.
